Listed in the Limca book of Records at one
time, as the youngest filmmaker in India, Rupin subsequently studied and
taught as a TA in the Film Studies department at Dartmouth College in
New Hampshire.
He spent five wonderful years in the early 90's on the
Hanover plain, doing an assortment of Environmental Studies, Geography and
Geology courses as part of his AB, studying under doyens such as Donella
Meadows, Konrad von Moltke, Bob Huke, Frank Magilligan and Jim Hornig, among
other wonderful people.
He founded Wilderness Films India in 1988 and has successfully established it as a leading broadcast and television services company in north India. In 2000, the company was turned into a public limited company, and while we retain a focus on broadcast and television services and very high end broadcasting technologies, our greatest assets lie in our wonderful team of personnel and our extensive archive of television and stills content, a library that is unparalleled in the world, in terms of its South Asian focus, and the extent and breadth of its subject matter and the technical superiority of the imagery itself.
Wilderness Films India is now actively seeking new avenues to share its content with the world, and make it available to the consumer and educational markets, as opposed to just the broadcasting world.
Direction: From AIIMS (known as ‘Medical’!) crossing, take
the main Ring Road towards Cama Place, but not as far. At Safdarjung
Hospital's OPD, that falls just after the AIIMS crossing, turn in left but
not into the hospital gate. Go 50 yards along the Ring Road’s service lane,
and turn left, before the Shanti Avedna Sadan. There is a tarred road
turning in left. Go in 50 yards and at a large metal gate, turn in right.
Just as you turn, you'll find a white board with 'Wilderness' on it, to your
left. Come in through the gate just next to this, into our private parking
lot.
